Default Lookie what made it on my Jeep :)

Lookie Lookie what made it to the front of my Jeep!! [IMG][/IMG]

I am so stoked to finally have a winch.

As some of you know I got this winch dirt cheap, new from Can Tire. It works pretty nice. I made up my own winch plate as I was running low in the cash dept. I also couldn't justify spending almost $250 bucks for a plate when I made one for $70.00. Besides I plan on getting a new aftermarket bumper someday anyway, so this will work for now. I still have a few little smoothing out things to take care of. But for the most part it is complete.

Looks good Chris!

When you get a chance you should get someone to tack a mounting bolt so it doesn't disappear! I know of somebody who had this happen to him, I warned him about it a couple of week earlier, he just didn't get a chance.

You now what? I really should have taken some pics of the build, but My Bad
I didn't take a single one.

Details are that it is 1/4 plate steel cut to fit the frame rails. I used 4 10.9 12mm mounting bolts directly to the frame. I had a guy break the steel for me for $20 for the fairlead mount. Drilling the mounting holes for the winch was the hardest part by far. Getting them that precise sucked actually. I messed 1 hole up so I had to go to plan B for that one

I painted it up with some Tremclad Flat Black and Viola its done.

I know one thing is for sure. With the mounting bolts hidden under the swaybar disconnect, and the plate mounting bolts hidden by the bumper. Its gonna be pretty hard for someone to get that sucker off.

All said and done the cost of the build was only $60.00 including a few misc goods like drill bits and Zip Cuts etc...

I will take Steve's suggestion though. I am gonna get a mounting bolt tacked. I waited a long time to get this winch and I will darned if someone is gonna get it for free.

Just make sure it's easily accessible with a grinder, you still want to make sure you can take it off.

Looks purdy! and ya what he said. spool it out to a telephone pole or??? set your e-brake a few clicks and suck it in to seat the cable.

Oh and what's all that white **** in your driveway? You spill a bag of flour?
