Here's something. Guys are in Surrey, maybe one of you knows them/their company? Sounds enticing for now, we'll wait and see.
Here's the article: JP Magazine's Easy Jeep VW TDI Diesel Swap And here's the company: HPA Motorsports' Volkswagen TDI Powered Jeep If anyone cares to expand on this or express opinions fire away!

Yeah, the Sams' been converted for the longest time now, although not TDIs, mostly "regular" VW diesels.

Nice conversion.... wouldn't want to put it into anything bigger than the TJ... but nice either way.

The VW TDI is a great motor with lots of torque... but if I was to even put it into a TJ... I'd be sure to consider regearing. I suppose an XJ wouldn't be horrible if you tweek the motor... but again, how many people out there actually regear their axles to match the larger tires to ease the additional load put to the trans & engine.
You never know... it could be a huge power house and have enough punch to push an XJ around easily. All my experience with TDI's is while they're still in the VW cars...

Marcel does top notch work and trust me,that diesel will wheelie the jeep when hes done. Its all a matter of how much you want to spend. They did a lot of building on one of my race cars.

Horse power = $$$
how fast you want to go is completely relative to how much you want to spend. They are good people and very fair with reasonable rates. They are world renowned. He had the first TDI in north america and blinged it out fiercely before anyoneelse could even get one.His wife drove that one.Its the silver one on their webpage.

Does anyone know that status of this TDI build? I've tried emailing HPA but I dont get any replies back. They've been into the project for a while now and I just wanted to hear whether they think its going to be worthwhile to develop a conversion kit like they originally planned.
