Default Out with the old,In with the new

So you may recall my dakota met with an early demise 3 weeks ago.It was a sad day since i had just done some recent work and had it basically just the way i liked it.
Everything went smoothly and quickly with all involved. The accident was on tuesday,ICBC looked at it wednesday and the following tuesday i had placed the order for the new truck, then the fun began...

the Dak.

______________________________________________

So after shopping around i decided on the 2010 Ford Ranger,i have always liked them and you can't beat the price.
I had looked at a lot of used trucks but by the time the bank gets involved the price works out the same as a new ride. Not to mention reliabilty is a major factor when the Zombie out brake takes place,i don't want to start out Z day by banging on a starter or tuning a carb.
I had the truck ordered with all the power options and auto tranny.they had a deal on for a wack of accesories so i got the vent visors, hood deflector, keyless entry/remote start(for obvious reasons),wheel locks and a bed mat.And its all wrapped in sexy sexy black.I had a dealer installed 3 inch suspension lift. Before i even left the dealer i went next door to Lordco and got some upgraded bulbs.PIAA for the heads and fogs. After some quick research i put an order in for some new rubber.I went with the Dean sxt in 265/75 r16 (32 10.5 r16) and i got the 10 ply.I know I know, thats a little heavy but i figure its good to be prepared.I have the camper so the extra plys are good with the weight and when running down the undead you need to remeber they have sharp teeth and bones,i dont want or need a flat.
So,yah, truck, lights, lift and tires.Thats all for now except the pics so here we are.

and of course the most important mod so far.

Very nice!! Especially like the decal on the back window...

Are you going to install a locomotive plow on the front end to be able to cut through a crowd of zombies... or do you think you'll be okay with the strength of the Ranger alone?

Well.A bumper is in consideration but i want to keep the stock look with this truck.I find with me as soon as i start the more off roady looking mods it just goes down hill from there. Before i know it i have a shiney new bush truck.
I will be looking for a bumper that looks good but i dont think i will find one.I might mount a winch behind the stock bumper and just avoid running in to things lol.with me if i have a big bumper i always use it,if i dont have one i never need it.
But as for Zombies the new truck has one touch down power windows so i can keep both hands on the wheel and yell loudly out the window and they may move out of fear.

Looks awsome! What kind of lift did they install? I really like black... as long as it's clean and polished...

Its the superlift, and thanks i really like black also.I have wanted a black ranger for a while but was concerned because it will really show the pin stripes but i am good at keeping my vehicals clean and polished so we will see how it goes. With a good coat of wax and caution it should still look good while getting used.

edit* i even peeled the red and silver "sport" decals because it covered some of the black lol

hehehehehehehe ...and we get to put the first scratches on the virgin paint in 2.5 weeks when we're up turkey hunting!

How's the lift feeling? I might put one of those in just to level off the front end cause I'm going to keep mine fairly stock... or I might get around to SASing it, who knows eh. LR

Matt, the lift feels good but i have no way to compare it to stock since i picked it up like this and didnt test drive it.I guess you will just have to take it for a rip. Then you can directly compare.

oh and, Doo eeet!

Ya you NEED one,It added 35 hp,got me an additional 4.7 mpg and i heard from an excellant source that these ones are'nt normal decals, they are "expedition" decals so they are better.

And they look cool
