OK got some more work done today, managed to get the door on. looks like i need some door shims, anyone know where i can get some? i had 3 but looks like i need 3 more, next will be changing out the window and track as the one i got is pretty rusty and i don't like the tinted window it came with, and the one in my old door is pretty mint.

figured i throw in a few pictures of the roll cage, its nothing heavy duty but i figure if i get in a slow speed roll over or something it will definatly help... i like the red

you can see how it goes together, it has slip couplings that just bolt through.

^ Bling Bling...

Oh... make sure you pad those roll cage bars. On a slow or high speed roll over, the last thing you'll wish as your skull cracks is "wish I padded these things".

Roll cages are not so safe on regular roads as you're not wearing a helmet. Make sure your seatbelt keeps you deep enough in your seat if you do roll... to avoid the head smashing. As cool of an idea that roll cages are... they're also just as bad for you without a helmet.

I had a 6pt cage in my racer Jetta back in the day... and can't believe how I ran it for years on the street without padding. Thought of that long after I sold it all... and can't believe I didn't think of it at the time.

That's because you have an extremely large head man...

hey... i had a vision last night let me know what you guys think.

rather than attempting to fix the bed, or build a complicated tube bed or the like. i was thinking of building a flat deck, and then building an off road tear drop type pod off of it. something no higher than the roof line so i could go wheeling/camping in the spots i like, but also small enough that if i ever wanted to i could mod the deck with axles and make it into a trailer. i think i could do it on the relative cheap side, wood sided with alluminum. i think it would be super cool

Could be interesting. It looks like I am getting my contract extended for a few extra weeks so my leave should be a bit longer (ie. October sometime) so we should be able to hit up some camping and wheeling. I also need to finish my mods on the jeep.
