Default Winch Solenoid

Has anyone tried the Titan winch all in one solenoid? I'm looking at the front of my truck and the idea of putting the huge solenoid box out in the open and blocking off the already reduced air flow to the rad is something I am wishing to avoid.

If I can fit this small unit under the bumper or in the engine bay then that will save me all the hassle of mounting the Warn box. Then i can just put the plug in the bumper somewhere for the controller.

Hi,

That's basically an 'Albright' solenoid copy.... there used extensively in Europe on comp vehicles (at least the Albright manufactured ones are).

Linky here :

Check out Jim's 'supercharged' 3 motor 8274 video on the home page..... that baby just screams.... and the wife say's

Thanks for that!! I did not know they were so common. I will for sure be getting one now, just to sure were from. Looks like all the Albright stuff is only in the UK, cant find anything available in North America. I will look around a bit more and see.

I have tried them a lot actually.
Right now i am torn between this and my new model. i started testing the new solenoid last July and have decided to go with the new one for all my Winches
it was a hard choice for me because of the high reliability factor with the Titan. In fact i dont think there has been a failure with one in the 3 years .
But the new design is specifically designed for a winch and has no other application. The other feature is the casing allowing half the Solenoid to be exposed allowing it to keep cooler and increase the Duty cycle while still maintaing a better seal than my previous metal boxes that housed the Titan Solenoid.
It really was a tough choice for me to make but i think for my own Winches it is the best choice .
and of course i have the Engine Battery monitor built into the Hand remote so you can check how good your battery / Alt is working while Winching
cheers

So judging by your name you are owner of Titan Winches? What solenoid are you talking about the one I have linked in my first post? Is that the new one you are talking about or the old one?

Thanks,

The Link is the old one ( actually the newest of the old ones i have done some changes over the years )
The youtube video from my Buddy Paul ( Tigerz11 in Aus ) and here it is the Sabre Winch shows the new Solenoid .
Paul and i work together on a lot of our products The Titan Max Comp has a stupid name from him ( big Thumper is his model ) but the RTT tents are Titan.

I found a distributor for Albright in Ontario. Check out http://www.gmfraser.com. I just ordered one for about $120 plus shipping. Only problem is they order them from the UK so there is some lead time on the order. Just fire them an email though.
