We are dragging the TT up through Kaslo area in Aug, haven't been since we took the Baja through on our honeymoon so really looking forward to it.

If anyone has camping recommendations for that stretch I'd love to hear...

This year's must-do for me is Molybdenite. When do y'all suggest going?

Our plan is to head East to Newfoundland for a few weeks - probably not until August. Outside of the usual weekend crown land trips, the family has travelled very little in Canada. We are still in the early planning stages, but we're looking forward to it.

    Any suggestions are welcome...

^ You know, when I read your intro comment, "I envy you westerners" my first thought was, yeah but you're a lot closer to Newfoundland and Labrador. So it's pretty cool to read that you're going ... and I envy that !!

There are numerous reports online about the TLH. Here's one I liked, a gentle but inspiring tale I thought. Lot's more on that site too ...

Thank you for the link - some great inspiration.

I admit there are some beautiful travel destinations here on the east coast. Where I envy the west is its scale, and the greater access to open camping. A lot of the wilderness out here seems parcelled and regulated.

Regardless, I look forward to breaking our southing/westing trend...

    Thanks again,
    Henry

The 2 big trips I've love to do is across the country, through the rockies to the west coat, and the other would be to head to Moab. We're trying to head out to the east coast, but stuff isn't going well, so I'm almost on the fence about cancelling it

    Too early ? LOL

Lots to do this year what with events celebrating our 150th B Day . We're hoping to do a bunch of hikes in the big mountain parks but they'll probably be a circus. Otherwise no firm trips plans yet.

We did start with a freebie today. Visited Ft Langley historic site for the first time.

Hope to see a lot more this year.

My Mother (who lives in AB) recommended Ft Langley historic site to me several times. I'm close enough to visit sometime. I should do that.

I don't know what 2017 holds for us as we're off to Oz for three weeks shortly and then maybe to Montreal for a few in the summer... not a lot of vacation time (or money) left over for overlanding after all that!
