    Default New Winter Project

Well I am now the proud owner (well co-owner with my fiance) of a '72 Boler 1300. It was given to use by my future father-in-law and he had it sent out from Winnipeg for us. It needs some work but should be a great project to keep us busy through the dark and wet months.

    As it arrived...

I tested all the appliances and they all work (heater, stove and fridge). I need to pull the egg off the frame so I can replace the old axles with some new torsion ones provided by my father-in-law. To do this I have stripped out the interior to make everything a bit lighter.

Today the kitchen unit comes out and then hopefully tonight the shell comes off the frame.

    More to follow!

    Very cool!

There are so many of these in the Pairies, see them all the time driving by old farms. Would love one and the place the park it.

Sweet. Those are very valuable around Alberta. Even in rough shape they can get $4000. I have a Beachcomber. Similar inside same weight. Just a little bigger

    Kitchen out yesterday.

Then got Cooter and one of his boys to come over and give me a hand getting it off the frame last night. It is light enough that four of us could have just carried it into the garage. Got it onto a wooden frame that still needs to be worked a bit and inside just as it started raining.

    Old frame dragged out.

    ..and in...

Now at least it is out of the elements and can be worked on in the warm and dry.

Yes, it is just a frame made out of 2x8 boards with swivel castor wheels on it. I build a little support frame this morning to support the rear end a bit.
