Hi Folks!
My name is David and I live in Coquitlam. My wife and I have a small popup FWCamper and have enjoyed exploring and camping around SW BC. Sadly our F250 is tired out and we’ve been sidelined while waiting for a new rig. With luck that will change soon. In the meanwhile I’m dreaming, scheming and web wheeling.
I’m also hoping you'll let me bounce some ideas around here.:headspin:

So David... do you have any wheels that go offroad at this time? Or is your offroader in limbo?

Hey Kelly,
We’ve got a ’91 F250 that has “issues” (clutch, valves, rotting brake lines, etc.) I’m just not comfortable taking it in the bush anymore. It’s time for a new rig.
Maybe time for a "new truck ideas" thread, eh! :pipe:
Here’s an few old pics:

Yeah, a new truck idea thread isn't a bad idea... we can all dream at the same time.
I like the camper you've got there... low profile for the trail, and pop up for sleeping etc. Great idea... I've never seen one.

It's a FourWheel Camper (http://www.fourwheelcampers.com/) "Granby" made in, and ideal for, California. For the wet coast well ... it gets the job done and is a welcome step up from sleeping in the back of the truck.

My recommendation would be to take 1/50th of what you'd spend on a new truck and do the necessary repairs (by which I mean upgrades and mods) on your Ford! It's hard to beat the simplicity of older trucks lol

So you're not recommending a 6.4L oil burner. ??

From what I've heard of the newest diesels, you really need to be a middle eastern oil prince to afford the fuel bill! Even the 6.7L Cummins is way down on economy from previous generations, all in the name of horsepower wars I suppose. How many people really need 650 to 750 lb/ft of torque ?
I'd steer away from fullsize diesels if you plan on doing a lot of wheeling. Mine rides like a WW1 tank, and would quite probably sink like one given soft enough ground.
