Isn't Smittybilt a good brand? Maybe I should hold off on getting 2 new driveshafts and get a rear and a winch! That's a good price... how good is it though?

They use series wound motors which is good, have to research it a bit yet.

Ya I thought about that, but that's really overkill for me. The only reason I would go that way is the 10K one wouldn't need to work as hard as the 8k one to get the job done and perhaps that might extend it's life. but then were dealing with not only higher cost but I'm sure it weighs more, draws more power and is physically bigger too.

Not likely getting it soon. The common price for the 8k one is $300 USD, so I'm not in a huge rush.

The guy actually took it apart to check it out....it's a permanent mag motor...not a bad thing considering the price of it, but it would of been a bonus if it was a wound motor.
