My site crashed and i dont think its coming back.Mini and myself are itching to get it going again but i was sorta thinking about adding a twist and doing ghosttowns+abandoned urban structures hence this weeks photo contest. There is a lot more out there than you know because we get used to our skyline and don't pay attention but can you imagine how sweet it would have been to cruise the old woodwards building? i visited the Pen in New west a few times and the nut house next door to it but anyone who is out in the bush knows theres a butt load of abandoned log sorts, dams and trapper slash miner cabins,in some cases whole villages. How bout that inlet up north? man i would love to have gotten the oportunity to visit there.Tranquille/Padova in Kamloops is another and when i lived in Winnepeg there was whole factories still standing after being abandoned for several years.Under the lionsgate bridge is a tunnel going to the other side of the river and various bomb shelters i ahve heard rumor of.
Anybody else think this could be a fun site to build? Kinda leads to a combined UE/Overland/Ghost town trip. :woot:

Sounds good. I would be willing to contribute some articles once I get settled down.
Have you ever looked at Wordpress? I use it for most of my sites and it is a great, simple way to build a website. It also is a blog, which the search engines love.
thanks wes thats good advice we will have to look into that

I think your idea is bang on. For some it is hard to get out to the out there Ghosttowns. So the urban aspect would be great.
Could maybe incorporate some Geocaches on the site as well to help people finds these places. Not sure what would be involved in doing that?
Anyway, looking forward to the site.

Its going to be Ghosttowns for the most part because of where i am and what i do but the urban aspect is an added bonus.I love the urban exploration but i dont have much out here so thats up to the others till i leave town.In Winnepeg we had loads of it.
Anyways its up and we are building as we speak,i am going to add some write ups from the GT's i have been to already just to get some stories and pics in there since i lost it all from the last site and of course there is a spot for geocaching ;)

Have you guys ever seen www.uer.ca ? I did some urban exploring with them when I was in Toronto. The Western Canada section of the board is not very big. I am more into ghost towns etc, but I still enjoy abandoned factories, etc.
