Perhaps a thread on immobilizers, kill switches, etc would be in order? In reality if they really want your stuff, they'll either grab it piece by piece (rims/tires, winch etc) or just nick the whole truck with a flat deck.

Any good ideas for extra security though? I keeping wanting to do a hidden kill switch for my ignition. Lots of guys recommend doing one for the fuel pump, but I don't want someone to run my fuel lines dry (causes problems for diesels). :hunter:

What you need to do it pull the driveshafts and t-case like I did.

Being serious... yeah, I've been thinking of it too. Lucky for me I don't daily drive mine so at least it's in a fairly secure area. But I think I'll be kill switching it. I do have a paging alarm system in a box... but don't think I want to put it in... I'll just do a few kill switches.

I think something visible in addition to a kill switch is a good idea. It may mean the person just may move on to an easier target.

Clubs are cheap and are visible. Of course they can be cut through but if the thief is short on time he'll look for the next one.....or just drag it onto a flat deck:hunter:
