Or this thing that pulled up at Save-On Foods the other day... it's pretty huge for a street machine... and does look cool. Not sure what it would be capable of...

^ That's basically my truck with an extra 6" of tire. Crazy. No way I'd want tires that wide unless the only place I drove was through sand dunes!

Come on Mike.... go big....
Any word on the job front?

Ever taken a Turtle and put it on its lid? Thats what that Burb would look like after the first slightly off camber section you came too.
That Ford looked ok, let me guess a 20ish guy got out and parked it there right? Cant stand people in larger trucks thinking they can park anywere, grow some skill or drive a Geo. :mad2:
About all that a truck like that is any good for is trying to look cool like the other 5000 trucks just like it in Langley. Would also be good at braking if you took it on any kind of trail.
Mike I like your idea of keeping them tall and thin.

Yeah, I know my truck sucks on trails compared to an XJ or YJ, but that was a compromise I was willing to accept to be able to carry more gear, and look cooler parked outside Rooster's and Gabby's lol (kidding).
I think I'll probably end up sticking with 35" or 36" tires, and just throwing in a front locker and winch. That'll be trail worthy enough for me for hunting for a few years until I can get a used ATV or trailer to pull the Barbie Jeep behind me.

WOW thats looks a lot harder than the last few times I went thought. Late last August when we did that it was starting to get chewed up and we all had a bit of fun there but wow that's a WALL now.
Glad I was working on getting the winch working last night as it looks like it will be needed next time thou.
That was quite an example of no lockers on the Exloreres part....man.
Is there any trees with in winch distance that can handle that type of pull? I remember there being one up at the top of that hill but cant remember how far away it was.

Yup! Yup! and Yup!
1. At the bottom I'll post a link to our Vid from July 1st this year so you can see the difference in just 2 months.
2. The Exploder is Reaper's from BC4x4, he just bought it 1 week before the trip and he hasn't started working on it yet except for the Truxes MTs and the front bumper.
3. there is a tree winched down as you can see on the right side of the vid. but there is another one up the hill. 100' of cable should do it.

That hole has sure gotten worse since Axel and I were there in August. Axel walked right up that with his Yota. I almost made it with the Jeep. Almost being the key word :)

That's the way its set up to work, you will get a e-mail for a response after to check or post for the first one then after then you will not get one till you log in an check that thread or post. That's how it works for me anyways.

Yup, that's the way all the vbulletin boards all work, as the automated email indicates: "There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again." and generally that is the case.
However, on this thread I received a notification when you posted last, I logged on and ready your post. After that 3 other messages were posted, but no email sent. This has happened many time on the Boneshaker forum, but the HOT4x4 and the BC4x4 work fine.
Anyway, I'm just rambling, and the notification worked fin this time.
No worries, must get back to work.

With more ground clearance and a lot of "plan B" he "might" have made it.
It was a good attempt. Maybe next year bro.

HAHA yep that's an almost :D now if he had a REAL Jeep there such a short wheel base he would have made it:crazy:. Break over angle pwns you! ;)
EDIT: the only thing that would really help there is big tires and more lift from the looks of it. Those fenders look ready for some 37's! (sell a kid and DO EET!).

You're all to funny! I can't wait for the first time any one of you's get stuck and you are on the end of my strap :)
All in good fun.
Jeremy! You are absolutley right. The tires would have helped for sure, and the breakover angle on that Jeep BLOWS!!!!!!!
But what the heck at least I wheel mine.
Not like the other 8 million like mine out there that won't ever even see a dirt road let alone a huge mud hole.
Chris
P.S. Hey Jordy. Its Axel not Alex Just gotta throw that out there :slap:  He is still my bro, even so he is making fun of me.

Good sweet lord! That hole's starting to actually look menacing! Went through there last summer and walked it like nothing in my stock '93 Ranger (2" lift, 31s). Went through a couple summers in my quad and hardly got dirty! Guess there's actually a spot on the 'saw thats starting to get challenging for a stock truck now :D LR

I am definetly down for some more trips next year. I like that red Jeep. I want the snorkle for christmas this year with a prefilter. The dust on the logging roads up here is brutal. I came back from 1 trip up in Prince last weekend and I had to buy a new filter. Wow the dust is bad.
Everyone keeps on me about my tires. I really do need bigger ones for sure but right now its just not in the Budget. When the M/T's a worn out the biggest tire going on that thing is a 33 maybe a 35. That new D44 with the lighter D30 outers is just to weak for anything bigger. 35's are even pushing it without some axle upgrades and I really don't wanna go down that road right now. Besides the Jeep still works exceptionally well for a stock Jeep, except for maybe the occasional mud hole :)

Driving with out doors on at any age is dumb as far as I'm concerned. Oh and its illegal in Canada for good reason.
