Thought I'd post a photo of the cool car I had in Grade 12. Was a 1972 Ford Pinto with a 289ci small block V8 and a 4 speed manual transmission. Front suspension was bone stock... so you can imagine the clearance troubles I had with this thing when driving on a bumpy road... didn't help that the front shocks were blown.
I'd head to the local auto wreckers every few weeks to pick up a set of used tires for the rear as I was often burning them off as seen in this photo.
So this was 1989... and the hole I dug for this burnout is still visible today in the alley (was 1/2 block down from my house back in the day). I was very proud to have the fastest car in my high school!!
