One of my latest fab projects.

Started with an old 20lb propane tank. Purged the tank with water for 2 hrs after removing the valve. Torched off the top (residual propane still popping. Scary. Do not try unless you're as dumb and awesome as I am!)

Welded strips of 2" wide x 3/16" thick flat bar stock to extend the length of the stove to about 34". Would have been much easier (and WAY lighter) to weld two propane tanks together, or use a single 40lb tank, but none were available).

Fabricated door, hinges, latch, damper, chimney flue, etc.

Voila:

I could use one of those for my hunting trips. Nice

I've had it out on two of my last hunting trips now, and it's been awesome. I was up in 100 Mile House for 8 days in October, and we were hanging out in our wall tent in t-shirts at night, with only a moderate fire going in the stove.

How are you liking Prince George? I keep wanting to move up to that area, as the hunting is so much better up there.

thats cool. i too started one of these a while back but with a 30 pounder. mainly for under the easy up rather than the tent. next time though i'll use an old compressor tank instead.
