That's pretty close. Did they like it there?

I have an x-coworker who came down here from Cranbrook.... and then ended up moving back cuz he liked it way too much.... and he's happy as a pig in poop... so it's can't be that bad!!

Ok thanks. I have a job opportunity in Trail, just weighing the pros and cons.

Like as in long term or temp?

I'd start out as a temp, filling in for guys who are off work due to illness, injury, vacation etc. It's full-time though, and very steady, as they keep the number of relief workers down to make sure everyone is working as much as possible. After I finish my 4th Class Power Engineer ticket (should be done in Sept I hope, getting tired of homework...) I can get hired on full time into the Union, as they have an opening for me.

It's the TeckCominco smelter facility in Trail, the job would entail working as a 4th class steam engineer in the boiler facilities. Good pay, affordable housing (there are houses with acreage and workshops/barns/etc within our price range), lots of fishing and hunting. Only real downside is I have to be clean shaven in case I need to wear a respirator...:(

I don't know what your other options are, but it sounds pretty good to me.

I especially like this part...

I dream of this "Good pay, affordable housing" you speak of. As much as it would be nice for you to stay local.... don't pass up on a good opportunity. I wish I would have moved to the interior when my wife green-lighted us back in 2000.... but I changed our mind for my work opportunity. Should have moved when she was game to go... now I have lots of work to do to get her to move!! :D (not to mention we need our house to make some $$ before we can even think of selling)

DO IT... for a good opportunity.... and to maybe see you clean shaven once in a while... bush man!

My parents loved it, I loved visiting. Very outdoorsy atmosphere. Lots to see and do.

Don't even question it man, go for it!

I hate the shaving thing, part of my life up in the oilpatch. You get used to it, the hardest part is when you take time off and get a decent growth, then have to go back to work.

I passed on a job opportunity there to. the company I worlk for has a Branch there and there was an opening I could have had. It is awesome in Trail. I have friends just down the road who recently moved from there and talk about how nice it is all the time. Anyway that is my 2 cents. I would do it. :)
