hey Pascal, Every second year I leave BC and go to Wawa ontario,
I go to this place, just like the Carribean!
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-6BSm_H702TU/TrsSl0zLj1I/AAAAAAAAGDk/8_lVJfa9FWA/s800/DSCF0603.JPG
but the picture is really to show how incredible lake Superior is! Both my wife and I really like beaches/water and camping as close to both as possible.
When I drive there I always stop at one of my favourite places for as many days as I can, that place is Neys provincial park, I dont know what my attraction is to it, but I can tell you that it has private camp sites (I am not a big fan of organised campgrounds) with your own trail that leads down to a rustic big beach

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-iopsVjYd9dg/TrsVT7X3OeI/AAAAAAAAGDw/Q2072UHLGRo/s800/DSCF0574.JPG
with lots of drift wood around, nice sand, clean water and the site has showers.

I see that your route goes right by it so check it out,, also south of Wawa is another long beach called Driftwood beach, usually no one there and goes for miles. I have camped there before too. Free.

Close to Thunderbay, there's Sleeping Giant Provincial Park. Nice park with great views. If you know exactly when you'll be there, reserve a site next to the water and catch a picture of the sunset over the Sleeping Giant...

Just took a closer look at your Google map. Looks similar to a route we took a few years ago. Here's a few highlights you may want to take in on your trip:
Cochrane: Go see the polar bears. If I remember correctly your admission also gives you access to an old town museum. There's Greenwater Provincial Park just to the west if you need.
Moonbeam: Grab a picture with the flying saucer, at the west end of the town.
Kapuskasing: Grab a picture with the bear statues
Hearst: Grab a picture of the statues of the wolves and moose. Oh, and gas up, it's a ways to the next town.
Geraldton: There's a provincial park there (McLeod's I think). At the dump across the street to can see real bears.
Beardmore: Grab a picture of the giant snowman
Enjoy!!
