I am single so I think the only methods of me getting some would be illegal. You and Cody are the married (or almost) ones here! You provide it!

It would not be illegal.......it would be an adventure!
All kidding aside it looks good, I'm looking forward to seeing it next time we head out. Will be nice to compare the two. I looked at one at the ARB USA warehouse years ago.
Are you going to update your build thread with the mods to the platform?

Yes, I am going to get a start on it tomorrow afternoon with Vague.
Hi Guys
Not to pee pee on anything,but if it was 799.00,I could have supplied you an ARB 47 Qt for 699.99 so i haope the price was better than the link supplied.
Check with me on these sorts of items,we really do have great prices on stuff.
Thanks
Paulo

Yeah Paulo, I looked at the ARB ones and I feel the construction feels a bit cheap. I like the all metal construction of the Engel and their compressor is a better design then the ARB one and more durable.

according to all the reviews ive read the ARB is the same as the engle, just a re brand? or maybe engle is using a new manufacturer now...
from ExPo
hey indeed are both the same fridge the ARB's are the anniversary edition of the Engel, IIRC. They are both using the Swing Motor, an electro-dynamic reciprocating device that connects directly to the piston of the compressor. The motor design and associated resonance characteristics achieve a very high power output. Since there is only one moving part, which is self lubricated, there is no maintenance needed. This offers advantages such as great economy, compact size, light weight, high efficiency due to the resonance phenomena, low friction losses and minimum power consumption.

It's not a rebrand anymore.
Engel = Made in Japan
ARB = Made in China
Good enough for me. If this deal had been around when I bought my ARB, well, I would have bought an Engel.

It's my understanding the the ARB compressor is made by Danfoss, a German company... At least that's what it said on my ARB packing information.
You know those Germans can build some fine stuff! :cheers:

The ARB's are excellnt fridges. The Engel are just made a "little" bit better.

Danfoss make excellent domestic & commercial HVAC equipment, used lots of it back in the UK.

One of the best mods I ever did (competing with the aux tank).
The two zone topper compartment is a good deal also - rare to find them.
Although it is tempting - just don't have the clearance in the cab to mount it...

I saw those for the first time the other night on an ExPo post. they look cool but I can barely open my Engel where it is now...oh well it's an excuse to get a slide I guess!

Mark,
Not sure if they are made anymore - I had contacted Engel directly, and they hadn't seen them for a while (this was a while back). Also don't know if there is a cover/transit bag for the top portion (potentially a minor detail)
That being said it does add extra capacity. Not sure that the slide can handle the weight!!
