hi guys, i hope some of you have seen my trailer build and i see that some of you are also interested in the same sort of thing. i know this could be in a different section but figured this is the best spot since this is where everyone is displaying their interest in these trailers. i bought my trailer in sept from the army surplus in kelowna. he has like 18 more there all in as good condition as mine. prices vary from 950 to 1200 depending a little on condition and mostly if they have good tires on them. most still have the military "coker" style tire. anyway if anyone is interested call the place. the owner is Albert and he is easy to deal with. he is into all sorts of military vehicles. i will put his contact info below.
just want everyone to know i am just doing this so anyone interested in these can get them. they are getting harder and harder to find. i only found them by accident myself.

Yeah don't wait too long if you want one as there were only just over 1900 of them made EVER, and they are very popular in the states right now...
I found one in Vancouver Craigslist a year or so ago for $600 in great shape and it is currently being build albeit very slowly, I should have it on the Whipsaw trip this year if all is well.
I also sold the wheels and a couple of other bits for $200 so she only stands me $400 as a starting point:)
And did you know that the canadian military paid over $12,000 for each of these:eek:

$12k... wow. That's nuts. And a starting point of $400 I can handle... that would be cool.

sold the wheels???? DOH....in a moment of "i need to get some of this junk out of my garage" weekness, the wheels with tires on from my trailer went to the dump....anyway live and learn. oh yeah so did the original fenders...stupid stupid stupid. was in such a hurry to get things finished didnt even think about selling those parts. if you go by the original price the military paid then i could have got like 2000/tire and wheel and 500/fender.

Those fenders will get you an easy $100 US right now(That is if you still had them:poke:)
Yeah my tyres were nearly new so easily worth the $$$ to the right buyer...
So do you think your trailer is on the heavy side or not, Wondering what experience you have off road with it?

well here is the story of the weight, it weighed in at 770lbs when i got it. i took off the original fenders, all the tie downs (10, threw them out too) and 2leafs out of each spring pack (kept those) also switched the original tires for 35's on steel 10"wheels. so before i started it was at about 800 lbs. then i added 300 lbs of steel (lid, fenders, tongue box). so it was up to 1100lbs, added 140lb tent and 30lb awning...now up to just around 1270lbs. so add camping gear, water, propane tank, gel cell batt.....etc etc. i am guessing around 1600lbs when loaded for camping. as for offroad....that paint wasnt even dry when i stored it away on friday so i could go overseas for work. so no i havent wheeled it yet. i will be looking for a new axle with brakes for it soon i think. as soon as i get back and get some miles on it i'll do some more write up on it.
