Just a quick Trip Report, Killer Cruiser, A FJ cruiser and I went on a short notice trip today (Good Friday)

First we followed a bunch of Power line roads looking for some Harrison Beach Access. To no avail... but we did get some good views.

Drove down Hale for a BBQ (very busy place this weekend)

Drove further down Harrison West FSR till we hit snow (just before the Chehalis turn off.)
We turned around and headed up to Sunrise. Killer Cruiser did the V Rock and the family hiked to the Lake.

All in all is was a good day with little to no carnage. I did managed to scrape a rear rim and something is rattling on my muffler (heat shield?)
A locker is going in very soon... found some limitations on the LC with open diff today.

Mike did you try V rock? That's a great place to see the difference a locker makes......and can mod rocker panels fast if the wrong line is used.

Looks like a great day out!

No, I just spotted Andrew.

The rock wasn't 100% dry and with open diff's I didn't want to risk anything.
The FJ80 is a heavy rig and bringing the family home safely is more important than "trying" to accomplish an obsticle. Next time! ;)

We hung out there for a while... Interesting place to be, very amusing... almost like a boat launch!

I did the v-rock on 2" lift, with 235/75/15's on the Grand Cherokee...open-open. You'd have been fine. It's not as slippery as you might think... lots of traction. However, bottom line is if you're not comfortable, you don't do it.

I'm still trying to figure out if I'd try it in the Burb without sliders!

IIRC it was raining when we had Mikes bone stock Cherokee , factory sized street tires, no lift or lockers up V-rock. Only thing we did was disconnect the front sway bar. Traction on V-rock isn't much of an issue if your easy on the skinny pedal, it's about finding the right line.

Yeah the right line of V rock is the only challenge, as long as you straddle the V you are fine. V rock and you success with it come down to the spotter you have and weather or not they know the correct line. I made it up open once (with a bit of work)and then after that I had a rear locker and never had an issue again.

Hope to have the LX up there in a couple weeks to give it a good shake down.:D
