Bought me a new fishing rod...

After joining the 'unofficial' Revy fly fishing club last week, I decided to vist the toy shop in Kelowna yesterday.....

Gained spending approval from the boss & got me a very nice beginners rod, reel & an assortment of flies to get going.

Roll on spring..... I can see plenty of wheel'in & fishing trips heading my way :party:

Any other formum members in to fly fishing ?

I like to throw flies around,i still have never caught anything worth bragging about but a bad day tossing flies is better than a good day dangling worms IMO.

I love fishing. Just baught my first fly rod last year and have only used it once. Hopping to get out more this year

Yup, lousy fly fisherman but if you can find a nice little lake it is a great way to spend a day. If you catch a decent fish then dinner is a bonus.

Count me in as another lousy flyfisher, but I love it. I think salmon/deep water salt fishing's my favourite and flyfishing comes in at a close second. I usually spin cast for the most part, just because thats what I own, but I agree that its pretty useless unless you're trolling out of a canoe. I'm pretty good at catching and hooking everything but fish but one day I'll eventually get the rhythm down. One day. LR
