...isn't as Barbie'd anymore. Installed some Rough County drop brackets yesterday. Actually quite a nice kit. The welds are top-notch, my only complaint would be that the braces only bolt to the brackets with the 2 bolts used to adjust the fore-aft positioning of the lower control arms. A couple of quick tack-welds would solve that.
DEATH WOBBLE DEFEATED! :woot:
Ride quality is much improved. No death wobble anymore. Steering wheel is centered properly (had to install the 2" TeraFlex spacers and remove the factory isolaters to get 1.5" extra lift. I couldn't shorten the draglink enough without the extra lift to get the steering wheel centered). Now I just need to find some 31's to fill in that awful wheel gap! 5" lift is too much for 235/75/15 tires

Sounds like Project Jeep is back underway. I have some 2x 31" BFG muds if you want?
Keep it up, sounds like you are going to have a nice all round Jeep when done.

Negative. No progress or updates. Oh wait, the rearview mirror needs to be glued back onto the windshield. Does that count??
Hopefully when I am again gainfully employed I'll have a few bucks to put into the Jeep again. Would be nice to get it to the point that we can bring it on trail outings instead of my PowerStroke.

I have a 31" goodyear AT tire that can be used as a spare.

I got offered the job in Trail, but turned it down. I would have been working in the Acid Roaster, spraying an acid solution against the inside walls of the boiler drums to de-scale them. Pretty sure I'd be miserable. Something will come up. In the meantime I am doing knife sharpening and knifemaking to drum up extra cash to supplement EI. Bought a little belt grinder, now I need to make a small charcoal forge for heat treating.
I'll keep the tires in mind guys. For right now we're sticking with the 235/75/R15 tires I got from Nathan. I don't have the money to buy two extra tires, or have them mounted and balanced. Modifying the Jeep isn't a priority right now, just keeping it driving reliably.

Yeah, doesn't sound like very much fun that's for sure...
When I first got my drivers license in Ontario my car needed a battery so I checked out a place that rebuilt batterys (first and last time I saw a place like that) and the few people that worked there just seemed wacked:crazy:, I'll never forget that cuz the first thing that came to my mind was that they had been around the battery acid a little too much.:hunter:
